Life became happier after Ethan and Lily started dating.
They still studied together, but now everything felt different. Ethan would wait for Lily outside her classroom every morning, and they would walk to class together.
"Good morning," Ethan would say with a smile.
"Good morning," Lily replied, smiling back.
Their friends couldn't stop teasing them.
"You two are so cute together," Emma said one day.
Lily blushed while Ethan laughed.
One Saturday, Ethan took Lily to the town fair.
They played games, ate cotton candy, and went on every ride they could.
At one game stall, Ethan tried to win a teddy bear for Lily.
He missed the first shot.
Then the second.
And the third.
Lily laughed so hard that tears came to her eyes.
"I thought you were good at everything."
"I'm trying!" Ethan said, pretending to be upset.
On his last chance, he finally won the game.
The shopkeeper handed him a small white teddy bear.
Ethan smiled and gave it to Lily.
"For you."
Lily hugged the teddy bear tightly.
"I'll keep it forever."
A few weeks later, it was Lily's birthday.
When she reached school, she found a small gift on her desk.
There was no name on it.
Inside the box was a silver bracelet with a tiny heart charm.
A small note was folded inside.
"For the girl who makes every day brighter. Happy Birthday. – Ethan"
Lily smiled as she wore the bracelet.
That evening, Ethan took her to their favorite hill to watch the sunset.
"You like surprises, don't you?" Lily asked.
"Only when they make you smile," Ethan replied.
She looked at the bracelet on her wrist.
"I'll never take this off."
Ethan smiled.
"Promise?"
"I promise."
As the months passed, they made many happy memories together.
They celebrated festivals, clicked hundreds of pictures, and filled their phones with funny selfies.
Lily's camera captured every special moment.
Sometimes Ethan would joke, "One day you'll run out of storage because of me."
Lily would smile and say,
"Then I'll buy another memory card."
They both laughed.
Neither of them knew that these photos would one day become the only memories one of them couldn't remember.
